Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro And Edge Get Battery Upgrades
Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro And Edge Get Battery Upgrades, boosting performance and battery life. Discover what’s new in the Galaxy S26 series.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro And Edge Get Battery Upgrades As you might have heard, the vanilla Galaxy S model is phasing out- and that is not a bad thing since it is going to be swapped by a more capable Pro model. What is going to be improved? A bigger battery, to begin with.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro And Edge Get Battery Upgrades. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro is said to be packing 4,300mAh as the typical battery capacity. That is 300mAh higher than the S25 and S24 and 400mAh even more than the S23.

M1, the code name of the S26 Pro, will be called SM-S942. It is said that a replacement of the 50MP ISOCELL GN3 sensor (which has been used in the S23, S24 and S25) will also occur but this does not necessarily mean the resolution will be upgraded. The ISOCELL GN5, as example, was a 50MP 1/1.56” with 1.0micron pixels, which was not that different to the GN3. Nevertheless, GN5 is much better at autofocus and it brought Front Deep Trench Isolation to Dual Pixel sensors, so sensor improvements become exciting not only because of resolution.
Also, as has been reported, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge (M2, SM-S947) is also set to see a battery boost to 4,200mAh typical capacity, a 300mAh increase over the S25 Edge. And at the same time, it will be even fatter than the existing 5.8mm version.
It is also hard not to ask how these new batteries will come with an increase in the charging speed. And we heard that finally we are going to see the Galaxy S26 Ultra charge to more than 45W, as much as 60W. This might or might not include a capacity increase an increase of 10 percent to 5,500mAh has been said elsewhere but others are saying it will remain at 5,000mAh.
We have not heard anything about charging being improved on the S26 Pro and S26 Edge and with their battery capacities, which are similar to the ones on the Z Flip7 (4,300mAh) and Z Fold7 (4,400mAh) at slightly slower 25W, we do not think much will change. We would not be averse to being surprised, either.
