Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Outpaces Dimensity 9500 In CPU Clock Speed Yesterday we learned that MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9500 SoC’s CPU is set to do something the manufacturer for the first time in its history – go past the 4 GHz limit, and today we have news about its big rival.
The new flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, scheduled to arrive late September, is now said to reach 4.6 GHz for the standard model and a whoppers 4.74 GHz for the “for Galaxy” higher-bin version that Samsung will be using in at minimum some of the Galaxy S26 devices next year.
The GPU on the SoC is rumored to go to 1.2 GHz and the AnTuTu score, even on the milder, more typical version (not the Samsung special), is rumored to be above 4 million.
The second generation of the Elite will retain Qualcomm-designed Oryon cores and the SoC will use the N3p 3nm process of TSMC. Two of those cores are Prime cores, and the remaining six are Performance cores, and the GPU will be branded as Adreno 840.
